Dosage and Administration:

Recommended doses of Vitamin D for individuals with deficiency or at risk of deficiency:

  • Adults and the elderly: 800–2000 IU per day, depending on weight, from September to April.
    • 800–2000 IU per day year-round if adequate synthesis of Vitamin D during summer is not ensured.
    • For those over 65 years of age: 800–2000 IU per day year-round, as skin synthesis of Vitamin D is reduced in this age group.
  • Overweight adults and the elderly: 1600–4000 IU per day year-round.
  • Individuals with darker skin tones: 1000–2000 IU per day, depending on weight, year-round.
  • Night shift workers: 1000–2000 IU per day year-round.

Adequate intake of Vitamin D is crucial for individuals with bone diseases such as:

  • Osteoporosis
  • Osteopenia (a precursor to osteoporosis, characterized by reduced bone minerals)
  • Osteomalacia (insufficient bone mineralization due to Vitamin D deficiency, leading to impaired calcium absorption from the intestines and resulting in calcium deficiency).

Higher doses of Vitamin D are also important for individuals with kidney diseases. Taking Diferol alongside sunlight exposure does not pose a risk of overdose.

  • For individuals aged 3 years and older: Take Diferol once daily, or as prescribed by a doctor.
