Pharmacological Action:
A universal antioxidant and neurotropic agent.
Alpha-lipoic acid (thioctic acid) is a bioactive endogenous antioxidant that is produced in the body through the oxidative decarboxylation of alpha-ketoglutarate. It acts as a coenzyme in the pyruvate dehydrogenase complex, participating in the oxidative decarboxylation of pyruvate and alpha-ketoglutarate. Alpha-lipoic acid neutralizes free radicals, protecting the body from damage caused by oxidative stress. It activates the antioxidant system and supports the synthesis of glutathione, coenzyme Q10, vitamins E and C. It reduces degenerative processes in nerve cells, enhances nerve impulse transmission, normalizes nerve sensitivity, lowers blood sugar levels, improves glucose transport into cells, and reduces glycosylation. Chromium (Cr, as chromium picolinate) is a natural trace element involved in fat and carbohydrate metabolism, increasing the reaction of insulin binding and helping to maintain normal blood sugar levels.
Zinc (Zn) is a natural trace element involved in cell defense mechanisms, preventing the formation of free radicals, and, in combination with B vitamins, improves nervous system function. Selenium (Se) is an essential antioxidant trace element that neutralizes the most aggressive endogenous and exogenous free radicals, participates in the biosynthesis of glutathione, protects cells from harmful effects, and slows down the aging process. Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant, involved in hemoglobin synthesis, regulating cholesterol levels, protecting the myelin sheath of nerve cells, and preventing the development of Alzheimer’s disease. In diabetes, it increases the sensitivity of cells to insulin and helps regulate blood sugar levels. Biotin (Vitamin B7) helps regulate blood glucose levels, activates enzymes necessary for the synthesis of fatty acids and breakdown of amino acids, and regulates cholesterol levels. It participates in energy metabolism. Biotin improves skin trophism, which may be impaired by prolonged use of alpha-lipoic acid (since alpha-lipoic acid blocks endogenous biotin synthesis). Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) is a component of neuronal membranes, ensuring nerve impulse transmission, proper cognitive function, and a balanced mental state. It is involved in the production of happiness hormones and regulates carbohydrate metabolism.
Vitamin B5 (Pantothenic Acid) participates in the metabolism of fatty acids, cholesterol, steroids, phospholipids, and ketone bodies, and is involved in protein acetylation and neurotransmitter synthesis (acetylcholine). It has anti-inflammatory properties.
Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) participates in the synthesis of neurotransmitters such as serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine; in the metabolism of amino acids, glycogen, lipids, and steroids; and regulates blood glucose levels.
Indications:
- Peripheral and diabetic neuropathy
- Compression neuropathies of the limbs: carpal (wrist), cubital (elbow), tarsal (ankle) tunnel syndrome
- Sensory/motor radiculopathies: lumbosciatalgia, cervicobrachialgia
- Tension headaches
Dosage and Administration:
Nevralip 600 retard extended-release tablets should be taken once daily, in the morning on an empty stomach with a large amount of water (since food may reduce the bioavailability of alpha-lipoic acid by up to 30%).
It can be taken during or after therapy with painkillers or anti-inflammatory medications.
Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. This supplement does not replace a varied and balanced diet, nor a healthy lifestyle.
Storage Conditions and Shelf Life:
Store in a cool, dry place, out of reach of children.
